Accountabilty
Accountability is an important aspect of pastoral ministry. It is also vital for every believer to fight temptation in God's power. God places us in churches and surrounds us with christian friends to help us grow and stand strong in Christ.
- If we neglect God's Word we will struggle to fight sin. 'How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.' Psalms 119:9 (ESV)
- If we neglect to pray, we will struggle to fight sin. 'Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matt 26:41 (ESV)
- It is also important to invite and encourage fellow believers to minister into your life. 'Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.' 1 Thess 5:11 (ESV)
If you have never considered being accountable to another trusted, confidential friend then do something about it today.
Here is a Personal accountability form that may be helpful. Select a good christian friend to ask you these questions weekly or monthly.
Furthermore subscribe to some kind of internet online filter or accountability, such as Bsecure online, Covenant Eyes or X3watch (X3 watch offers free accountability). Make it your aim to remove as much temptation from your life as you can!
