Answering your questions - Are we a protestant church?

By colin - Posted on 04 February 2011

Historically, the Baptists never really fitted into either the Protestant or  Catholic ‘camp’.  This is because our view of the church is that it comprises people who have consciously become Christians when they responded to God's gift of salvation and then are baptised as a testimony to the inner work of Jesus.

If we must be labelled we are Biblical, reformed and evangelical, believing that Jesus is the answer to every person's greatest need; the need of salvation. Knockconny Baptist Church is made up of people from various backgrounds in Ireland today.  We are cross-cultural and cross-community because we are Cross-focused.

All people must come the same way, to enjoy God's forgiveness and eternal life. The only way is through Jesus Christ who died to cleanse our sin and give us life.
