Christmas, being part of God's family

By colin - Posted on 17 December 2011

This Christmas time as we think about Jesus coming into this world and as we think about salvation as the greatest gift in all the world. Pause and remember

·       salvation is greater than having your sins forgiven (though that is wonderful and it is your greatest need)

·       salvation is greater than having guilt removed (though that is wonderful and it is your greatest relief)

·       salvation is greater than the promise of heaven (though that is wonderful and it is your greatest desire)

·       but salvation is being part of the greatest family of all, God’s family and is yours because of the gift of salvation given to you from God, through Jesus. This adoption into God’s family includes the forgiveness of sin, the removal of gift, the promise of heaven but even more wonderfully you have a close, intimate relationship with God.

o    Jesus is like the big brother you never had

o    God the Father is the Father you never had

o    Holy Spirit is given to you to daily and consistently teach and empower you. He transforms you to look like a member of this new family. So over time you begin to look and act more and more like Jesus.

This Christmas Jesus is the one you have be looking for, and he has been seeking you as his child but you must come and receive his gift of salvation.
